Ray M. Atcherson

Dr. Atcherson graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1978. After specializing in pediatric vision care for five years, he opened his practice in 1983. He is Board Certified for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Ocular Disease. He is an active member of the American, Maryland, and Anne Arundel County Optometric Associations.


Jill B. Florenz

Dr. Florenz joined our practice in 2001, bringing with her many years of experience in providing exceptional patient care. Dr. Florenz earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan State University and her doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry. She is Board Certified for the treatment and management of Ocular Disease.


Gwen Gibbons

Gwen is our Office Manager. She has been here for over 17 years and is extremely knowledgeable with regards to billing and insurance. She also oversees the daily functions of the office to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.


Debbie Nicholson

Debbie is our Optician. She deals with everything that goes into finding you the perfect pair of glasses. From choosing a frame and lens combination that works best for you to doing minor repairs and adjustments, Debbie has a nurturing nature and 12 years of experience that make you feel right at home.


Valerie Nicholson

Valerie is our Office Technician and Contact Lens Representative. From making sure your work-up is done carefully and accurately to ordering you contact lenses, Valerie makes sure your visit meets your high expectations.


Shani Sullivan

Shani is our Front Desk Receptionist. She manages the schedule for both doctors, answers all phone calls, and works with patients at each step of their visit. If you have any questions, give us a call and Shani will be glad to help!


Heather Atcherson

Heather, Dr. Atcherson's eldest daughter, is a part-time contributor to our office. She is currently enrolled at Southern College of Optometry, class of 2015, and lends a helping hand during summer and breaks from school.
