How it works
Atropine is a medication used in eye care for many years. In low doses, it can be used to help slow myopia progression. The exact mechanism isn’t fully understood, but it is believed to help reduce signals that contribute to the eye lengthening over time.

Atropine does not “cure” myopia—children will still typically need glasses or contact lenses—but it may help slow how quickly the prescription changes.
